SAN DIEGO, CA - The Chicano Democratic Association (CDA) has endorsed Auday Arabo,
Democratic candidate for the 78 th Assembly District. The endorsement was made at the CDA's monthly
membership meeting in January.
"We are proud to support one of our members, Auday Arabo, in this year's 78th Assembly District
Democratic Primary. We are committed to returning this important seat back to the working families and
diverse communities that make up the 78th Assembly District", said Nico Portillo, President of the
Chicano Democratic Association. "I am honored and privileged to receive the endorsement of the
Chicano Democratic Association, an organization that is true to its members and ideals of diversity within
the Democratic Party," said Arabo.
Arabo, a former criminal prosecutor with the San Diego County District Attorney's Office, and past
President and CEO of the Neighborhood Market Association - the largest independent grocers
association on the West Coast, understands the need to improve the representation and quality of life for
Latinos throughout San Diego County and will continue to vigorously empower not only Latinos but all
minorities in the 78 th District and the State of California and make sure their voice is heard in Sacramento.
The 78 th Assembly District includes portions of the Cities of Chula Vista and San Diego and rural San
Diego County, as well as the city of Lemon Grove and community of Spring Valley. |
