The weekend celebration will be held at Maderas Golf Club with evening events hosted at the spectacular Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines. Two complete golf tournaments sponsored in part by Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc., Barona Band of Mission Indians, Coca-Cola, CottonGolf Towels, Joiner Travel, KPRI 102.1, Markstein Beverage Co., Mission Valley Pools & Spa, PennySaver, Professional Produce, The San Diego Union Tribune, Sempra Energy, Union Bank of California, and The Waitt Family Foundation.
San Diego’s premier social event of the summer, The 18th Annual Charlie Joiner Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament will be held on the morning of June 29thand the afternoon of June 30th at San Diego’s #1 Golf Course Maderas Golf Club. An award reception will follow immediately after the golf tournaments.
Our “Motown Memories”Celebrity Party will be held on Thursday evening, June 28 that the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines Hotel. An entertaining 70’s theme costume party that includes hors’ doeuvres, prize drawings, silent and live auctions, live entertainment, Male and Female 70’s Best Dressed contests, music and dancing.
The Charlie Joiner Winning Spirit Awards Dinner will be held on Friday evening, June 29th at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines Hotel. This will be a black tie gala dinner awarding honorees of the Winning Spirit Award that will also include awarding of scholarship checks to twenty (20) high school graduates, charity auctions, and live entertainment.
This event promises to be a weekend of fun and excitement with other celebrities like Dave Binn, Deacon Jones, Willie Gault, Ted Hendricks, Beverly Johnson, David Justice, James Lofton, Leslie O’Neal, Tim Dwight, Paul Warfield, Donnie Edwards, Fred Williamson, and many more.
All proceeds from this gala event will benefit Skill Centers of America College and Preschool, and (20) twenty high school graduate scholarship recipients who will each be awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00. Skill Centers of America provides educational scholarships for physically challenged and economically disadvantaged individuals in need of career and job skills training. Eligible students receive free training in areas such as Computerized Accounting, Medical Office Administration, Hands-On Printing, and General Office. Scholarships include free childcare services at our on-site SCOA / NHA Headstart and job placement assistance.
